Wash, Dry & Fold Laundry in Parkstone, Poole

Parkstone rises from the harbour up to the ridge of the Ashley Road, the busy road between Poole and Bournemouth lined with shops, cafés and a Waitrose. It became a parish of its own in 1866 and joined Poole in 1905, and most of its streets are Victorian. This page covers the upper part — “up on the hill”, as locals say — around Ashley Road. Terraced streets rarely have space to dry a load, so we collect it, wash it, dry it and fold it.

Where in Parkstone we collect

We cover Upper Parkstone and the rest of Parkstone across BH12 and BH14 — the length of Ashley Road and the Victorian streets either side of it, and the roads around Alexandra Park. Lower Parkstone, Branksome, Newtown, Oakdale and Penn Hill are on the same rounds, so an address on the boundary is covered as well.

Alexandra Park, which grew between 1885 and 1915 and was named after Queen Alexandra in 1906, is the easiest landmark. Parkstone was also home to George Jennings’ South Western Pottery, which had its own steam locomotive and a private railway branch.
