Laundry collection and delivery in Mudeford

Mudeford is a former fishing village on the east side of Christchurch, with water on two sides: Christchurch Harbour and the sands of Avon Beach. Visitors have come for a long time — George III visited in 1801 and used a bathing machine — and today it is one of Christchurch’s main tourist spots, with a holiday park at Sandhills and cottages let to visitors around the quay. Guests leave behind stripped beds and sandy towels, and that is exactly the load we collect, wash and bring back.

Where in Mudeford we collect

We cover the whole of Mudeford across BH23 — the roads down to Mudeford Quay, the streets behind Avon Beach towards Friars Cliff, and the residential roads north towards Somerford and Stanpit. Stanpit, Friars Cliff, Somerford and Purewell are on the same rounds, so a boundary address is covered too.

Mudeford Quay is the landmark. The council bought the eroding Haven in 1945 and raised it with steel piles and concrete, and today it has fishing boats, the Haven Inn, an RNLI inshore lifeboat station and the ferry across The Run to the sandbank at Hengistbury Head. The Dutch Cottages beside it date from about 1687; as the Haven House inn they were at the centre of the Battle of Mudeford in 1784, when smugglers fought Revenue officers.

What gets collected most around here

Two kinds of load come from Mudeford. Holiday lets send duvet covers, sheets and pillowcases between guests, plus bath and beach towels, on a repeating slot that fits their changeover day. Family homes send the everyday wash all year round, with duvets too big for a home machine, shirts to iron and dry cleaning in the same collection.

Mudeford books through the same form as the rest of our Christchurch service, and holiday-let owners can ask for commercial rates before the first collection.

How our laundry collection works: you hand over the bag at your door, we wash and fold it, we iron and care for each item, and we deliver everything back.

Laundry in Mudeford — common questions

Do you collect laundry from Mudeford?
Yes. Mudeford and the surrounding BH23 streets are on our regular collection round, along with Stanpit, Friars Cliff, Somerford and Purewell. Choose a slot when you book and we collect from your door.
How much does laundry cost in Mudeford?
It depends on the service and how much you send. Current prices are shown on the booking page — pick your service there and you will see what applies before you confirm.
Do I have to visit a launderette?
No. A cottage by the quay or a family home up towards Somerford — we come to the door in Mudeford, take the bags away and deliver them back, so the car can stay parked and no machine needs watching.
Can you wash duvets and large bedding?
Yes — duvets, duvet covers, sheets, pillows and mattress protectors are handled as bedding and household linen. These are the items that usually will not fit a domestic machine.
How long does it take?
The collection, washing, ironing, and delivery of your items typically take 24–72 hours from the time of collection. The exact turnaround time will be confirmed once your items arrive at our laundry facility.
Do you take on business laundry in Mudeford?
Yes. If you let a cottage, run a guest house or manage caravans and lodges near Avon Beach, we can collect guest linen and towels on a fixed day each week, matched to your changeover. Restaurants by the beach can add table linen and tea towels. Commercial rates are quoted on request.
How do I book?
