Laundry collection and delivery in Jumpers Common

Jumpers Common is a northern suburb of Christchurch, lying between the River Stour to the west and the River Avon to the east, which join just to the south in the town centre before reaching the sea. It is a residential area of BH23 — Jumpers Road, Jumpers Avenue, Canberra Road and the streets running up towards St Catherine’s Hill — with Barrack Road along its southern side. For households here, ironing is the job that eats the evenings, and it is the one we take off your hands first.

Where in Jumpers Common we collect

We cover the whole of Jumpers Common across BH23 — the roads either side of Jumpers Road and Jumpers Avenue, the streets off Barrack Road, and the homes up towards St Catherine’s Hill. Fairmile, Portfield, St Catherine’s Hill, Iford over the river and Christchurch town centre are on the same rounds, so a boundary address is covered too.

Barrack Road takes its name from Christchurch Barracks, built in 1795–99 a little way east along it. From 1918 the site housed the army’s Experimental Bridging Establishment, where Donald Bailey developed the Bailey bridge in 1940–41, testing pontoon versions across the Stour. The barracks closed in 1994 and became a retail park and housing, and a section of Bailey bridge now stands on a plinth on Barrack Road by the Bailey Roundabout.

What gets collected most around here

Pressing is the main event on this page: work shirts, blouses, trousers and school uniforms ironed and returned on hangers or folded, whichever you prefer, plus bed linen pressed flat. Around it goes the household wash — clothes and towels washed, dried and folded — with duvets too big for a home machine and coats or suits for dry cleaning in the same bag.

Jumpers Common books through the same form as the rest of our Christchurch service, with collections five days a week.

How our laundry collection works: you hand over the bag at your door, we wash and fold it, we iron and care for each item, and we deliver everything back.

How much does laundry cost in Jumpers Common?
It depends on the service and how much you send. Current prices are shown on the booking page — pick your service there and you will see what applies before you confirm.
Do I have to visit a launderette?
No. The ironing and the washing are both picked up at your door in Jumpers Common and delivered back there, so there is no evening at the ironing board and no trip out with a basket.
Can you wash duvets and large bedding?
Yes — duvets, duvet covers, sheets, pillows and mattress protectors are handled as bedding and household linen. These are the items that usually will not fit a domestic machine.
How long does it take?

Do you take on business laundry in Jumpers Common?
Yes. Shops and cafés on the retail park and along Barrack Road can hand us aprons, tea towels, towels and staff shirts for washing and pressing on a set day each week. Ask for commercial rates before the first pickup.
