Northbourne is a suburb on Bournemouth’s northern edge, in BH10, with Ensbury Park to the south and the Stour valley along its eastern side. It stands on part of the old Ensbury Estate — one of the earliest settlements along the Stour, long before Bournemouth existed — but the houses themselves are post-war, from the years when Northbourne grew into a suburb of the town. On the east side, gateways lead into the Stour Valley Nature Reserve, with countryside walks down to Throop and Holdenhurst, and Bournemouth Airport is close by.
