Home & Office Laundry in Littledown, Bournemouth

Littledown is a suburb on the north-eastern side of Bournemouth, in BH7, south-east of Strouden Park and Townsend. For centuries it was Little Down, a huddle of farm buildings on the edge of the heath and one of the tithings of Holdenhurst parish. The Cooper-Dean family lived at Littledown House until the last two sisters of the family sold the house and farmland to Bournemouth Council in the early 1980s; most of the land went for housing, a large part was kept for a park and sports centre, and most of today’s Littledown was built in that decade. Homes and big workplaces grew up side by side, which is why one round here takes both.

Where in Littledown we collect

We cover the whole of Littledown across BH7 7 — the 1980s estates around Elmgate Drive and Shepherds Way, the roads by the Littledown Centre, Chaseside and Deansleigh Road with their offices and hotel, and the edge of Castle Lane East by the hospital. Townsend, Strouden Park, Holdenhurst, Kings Park and Iford are on the same rounds, so a boundary address is covered too.

The big names are all here: the Chaseside campus of JPMorgan, with the late-18th-century Littledown House restored in its grounds; the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, which opened in 1989, gained a second phase opened by Princess Anne in 1992 and, since 2025, the six-storey BEACH building; and the county court. One reminder of the farming days survives on the A338 Spur Road: it was built with a cattle crossing for the Cooper-Dean family, whose Littledown land it cut off from their Holdenhurst farms, and warning lights near the back of the hospital site still mark it.

What gets collected most around here

From homes it is the everyday basket — clothes, towels, bed linen and duvets too big for a home machine — with work shirts and blouses pressed and returned on hangers, and suits or coats sent for dry cleaning. From offices it is the kitchen and washroom linen: tea towels, hand towels and cloths, plus staff uniforms, on a repeating collection.
