Laundry Service in Bear Cross, Bournemouth

Bear Cross sits on the north-western edge of Bournemouth in BH11, at the roundabout where Wimborne Road — the longest road in the town, with house numbers past 1800 — finally ends. The name dates from 1756, when the Poole-to-Ringwood road was moved here and run as a turnpike. Today it is a residential suburb between Kinson, West Howe and the Poole boundary, a long drive from the town centre, so rather than you bringing laundry in, we come out to you.

Where in Bear Cross we collect

We cover the whole of Bear Cross and the rest of BH11 — Ringwood Road and Magna Road either side of the roundabout, the top end of Wimborne Road, and the streets running down towards West Howe. Kinson, Ensbury Park, Northbourne and Bearwood over the Poole boundary are on the same rounds, so an address on either side of the line is covered.

Everyone navigates by the roundabout and the Bear Cross pub beside it, built in 1931–32 in place of an older inn once known as the Brickmaker’s Arms — a reminder of the brickworks that used the local clay in the nineteenth century. The painter Augustus John drank there while living at nearby Alderney Manor.

Here it is mostly household laundry: the week’s washing, towels and bedding, plus duvets and pillows that will not fit a home machine. Work shirts and trousers can come back ironed, and suits, coats and delicates go to dry cleaning from the same bag.
